Matt Incontro is a saxophonist, composer and educator from Buffalo, NY who recently returned home after studying at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. His quartet will play original compositions along with some of his favorite jazz music at this Pausa debut. 

Growing up he studied saxophone with Ken Kuriscak, Russ Carere, Craig Incontro, and Doug Stone, and has since had the privilege of receiving guidance from Charles Pillow, Bill Dobbins, Clay Jenkins, Jeff Campbell, Bob Sneider, Gary Versace, Tony Kadleck, Joe Magnarelli, Loren Stillman, Brian Lynch, Scott Robinson, Tanya Darby, Kirsten Edkins, Sherman Irby, and Will Vinson. 

Matt was awarded best soprano saxophone soloist by Wynton Marsalis at the 2020 Inaugural Jack Rudin Jazz Championship, and he studied with renowned bassist Christian McBride and faculty from the Frost School of Music at the 2021 JAS Academy in Aspen, CO.
